Porch Time in the Fall
Is there anything better than a beautiful porch on a crisp fall evening? Whether yours is made for morning coffee, Saturday football, or a glass of wine at the end of the day, a few simple touches can make it feel like an extension of your home.
A few easy ways to welcome fall:
Layer a seasonal doormat beneath a larger patterned outdoor rug.
Add mums, ornamental grasses, crotons, or other fall container plants for color.
Mix pumpkins and gourds in different shapes and sizes rather than using only traditional orange.
Bring in texture with a cozy outdoor throw and a few weather-friendly pillows.
Add lanterns or warm outdoor lighting for those earlier fall sunsets.
Finish it with a beautiful wreath or seasonal arrangement on the front door.
Decorating Tip: You don’t have to turn your porch into a pumpkin patch! A few thoughtfully chosen pieces, layered with natural textures and greenery, can create a more elevated fall look that carries beautifully from September through Thanksgiving.
And don’t forget the back porch or patio. Fall in North Georgia gives us some of our best outdoor-living weather of the entire year.
